K. Wah Group Welcomes Diamond Jubilee with Passion Serves as Principal Sponsor of UNICEF Charity Run 2015 Supports Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS Global Campaign

(Hong Kong, 29 November 2015) – This year marks the 60th anniversary of K. Wah Group (the “Group”). To uphold its commitment towards “Building the Future with Passion” in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and providing long-term support to charities, the Group becomes the Principal Sponsor of UNICEF Charity Run 2015and has pledged to donate HK$2 million to UNICEF’s Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS global campaign to support the AIDS to ZERO cause.

K. Wah Group sponsored UNICEF Charity Run 2015, which kicked off at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay area on 29 November

The Honourable Leung Chun-ying, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Judy Chen, Chairman of Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) and other Committee Members; Paddy Lui, Executive Director of K. Wah International Holdings Limited; Miriam Yeung, UNICEF Regional Ambassador (East Asia and Pacific); Guo Jing-jing, UNICEF HK Ambassador, along with other guests, jointly officiated at the UNICEF Charity Run 2015 prize presentation ceremony earlier today. Paddy Lui also presented awards to Half Marathon Race Men’s and Women’s Champions.

Over 250 runners, including staff, their family members and friends from various businesses of K. Wah Group, joined the Chariry Run together with 13,000 public runners at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay area in order to raise funds for the worthwhile cause. The Group’s senior management Herbert Hui, Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of K. Wah International Holdings Limited (KWIH) and Alan Tso, Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of K. Wah Construction Materials (HK) Limited (KWCM), also took part in the 3km Leadership Challenge Run. A Half Marathon Corporate Relay team also represented the Group in the race to compete with other peers. In recognition of its active participation in the Charity Run, the Group won the First Runner-up in “The Group with the Highest Participants” Award.

Paddy Lui, Executive Director of K. Wah International Holdings Limited, said, “The Group recognizes and supports UNICEF’s long-term dedication to the prevention and treatment of HIV infection among children, as well as its continued efforts in educating the young in this regard. The Group is well aware that AIDS continues to be prevalent in developing countries, posing a substantial threat to women and children in particular. K. Wah Group decides to support UNICEF’s objective of protecting children’s healthy development by participating in the UNICEF Charity Run 2015, in the hope of drawing stronger support for UNICEF’s long-term projects in the areas of medical and healthcare services, education, protection of children and prevention of AIDS in over 150 countries.

Paddy Lui, Executive Director of KWIH, said in her speech that the Group recognized UNICEF’s vision and supported its objective of protecting children’s healthy development. With its 60th anniversary this year, the Group would continue to promote the spirit of “Building the Future with Passion” and called upon the community to care for the prevention and treatment of HIV
